Message from the President
You may have often heard me mention that "we care about good
education", and how it has always been the primary thrust of Jose
Rizal University. With this, I would like to share with you a piece
of good news: in line with our pursuit of academic excellence, JRU
was granted Autonomous Status by the Commission on Higher Education
(Resolution No. 013-2009 dated October 6, 2009).
Autonomy is the highest award given by the Philippine
Government to a university or college, representing the best in
quality education. It is the gold standard chased by each of the
1,700 colleges and universities in the Philippines. So far, only two out
of every 100 schools achieve this. Autonomy allows us to tailor our curricula
and services more freely, to match the needs of our students and
their potential employers. It allows us to adjust infrastructure
investments with more flexibility. Autonomy is an award given to the
entire institution for its quality. In the case of JRU, this reflects
the quality of all divisions: the Law School, the Graduate School, the
College, the High School, and the Elementary School. The award
reflects the University's entire effort to more fully "care about
good education." Thank you for your unwavering support.

Graduate School Objectives
The Graduate school aims to meet the objectives of Jose Rizal
University of developing responsible and useful citizens,
by contributing to the growing need for people who can add value by
leading, managing, thinking, creating, building and
innovating. During the school year 2004-2005, the MBA and MPA
Programs garnered the seal of excellence and distinction with the grant
of Level II Accreditation by the Philippine Association of Colleges
and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA).
This seal of excellence acknowledges Jose Rizal University's MBA
and MPA Programs as among the most credible and the best in the
country. The MPA Program in particular, is probably the only one so
far in the country that has been granted PACUCOA Level II Accreditation.
In September 2006, the MAEd program was granted Level I accreditation
by the same accrediting body, the PACUCOA. Additionally, per Fund
Assistance to Private Education (FAPE) and Evaluation of
Graduate Education in the Philippines (EGEP) result and findings, our
MBA Program is one among the top ten, while our MPA Program is one
among the top five nationwide. This and the JRU Graduate School's
continuing efforts towards excellence in graduate school instruction,
research and extension services will surely give its graduates the
decisive edge, not only in meeting the challenges of the
new workplace but also in turning them into events of national and
local development.
